Anusara Yoga

(Jackson, Wyoming)

Neesha is a Certified Anusara Yoga Instructor. This form of Hatha yoga, developed by John Friend, is a combination of life affirming philosophy and balanced action informed by the breath and physical alignment principles.

Neesha Zollinger grew up in Logan, Utah and Chewelah, Washington. She studied Dance and Soil Science and Environmental Studies at Southern Utah University and Utah State University where she graduated Cum Laude.

In 1991, she began her formal training in yoga. Since 1999 she has been teaching regularly with blessings from her teacher, Terrie Lauterbach-Cotts. After moving to Jackson, Wyoming, she met Margot Snowdon who introduced her to Anusara Yoga and became her primary mentor. Neesha owns and manages her own studio, Akasha Yoga, located in downtown Jackson.

Anusara is a Sanskrit word that means, "stepping into the flow of nature" or "following your essence." Anusara Yoga embraces intentionality: cultivating skills and virtues to empower the yoga practitioner to become the person that he or she wants to be both on and off of the mat.

The results are freedom in the body, mind, and heart, with a more expansive perspective of life. Since Neesha's discovery of Anusara, she has studied over 600 hours with Certified Anusara Yoga teachers, including founder John Friend.

Neesha's favorite pose is a backbend of any shape and form because of its playful nature and radically transforming essence. Done properly, it imparts sensations of confidence, bliss, strength, and open-heartedness.
