My boyfriend and I are hoping to volunteer in Dharamsala. I submitted my application last Thursday for www.volunteertibet.org and have still not heard back from them. We would like to leave the US for India during the first or second week of May. I am afraid that I won't hear back from them soon enough to book a flight (for a reasonable price). We were thinking to book our flight anyway, and travel to dharamsala, find a volunteer opportunity when we arrive (if volunteertibet still does not respond to my application.) Is this a realistic plan? We would like to volunteer for about 2 months.
I am also interested in your experience and your advice for living in Dharamsala.
