Tibetan Recipes for Vegetarian Momos

Tibetan Vegetarian Food is just as delicious!

I'm not sure if the Tibetans would agree with the above sentence but I've tasted some mighty delicious momos without meat. Food up on the high Tibetan plateau was limited to meat, dairy products and tsampa, (barley flour) vegetables were not plentiful.

Here are some Tibetan recipes for vegetarian momos that are delicious and nutritious that will delight the taste buds. Instructions to make momos can be found here.

Potato and Cheese Momos

Ingredients for Tibetan Recipes for potato & cheese Momos:

To make about 30 Momos for 2 to 4 people:

* 4 or 5 large potatoes finely chopped

* 1 cup of your finely grated favorite cheese. I like old chedder but you can use any type you like or even cream cheese.

* 1 onion finely chopped

* Salt

* Soya sauce

I sometimes put in finely chopped up tofu or cauliflower, yum!

Mix all the ingredients together, salt to taste and put in the momos instead of the meat.

Cook for the same amount of time.
