Tibetan Tattoos - Questions about mantra tattoo

by Bee
(Singapore)

Hi I would like to get a tattoo of the Green Tara Mantra after having her "visited" me twice now.

Thing is, I want it down my spine starting from the nape of the neck. I'm just wondering if it's ok to tattoo it vertical in a non-stacked way. What I meant is instead of having it horizontal like how it is, just imagine rotating it 90 degrees so it's vertical.

Is that ok? Or must it be only horizontal as it's meant to.

I read that you're not supposed to have it backwards and upside down but does having it vertical mean being disrespectful? Need your advice!

B

Hi Bee,

Vertical tattoos can look very beautiful, I don't think it's disrespectful at all. Rotated or stacked mantras are fine. Just make sure it doesn't go below your waist. :)

Please send us a pic when you get it done!
