The Dalai Lama In TorontoPictures Of Gorgeous Tibetan Chubas!The Dalai Lama in Toronto... Toronto is home to over 4000 Tibetan refugees. Most of them enthusiastically turned up in their most beautiful traditional clothing to see the Dalai Lama in Toronto on October 22nd. Sitting in a large white chair and surrounded by yellow and red flowers, the Dalai Lama gave a lecture entitled "Human Approaches to World Peace" to a sold out crowd of thirty thousand people at the Rogers Centre. His Holiness spoke optimistically about how the 21st century is filled with possibilities for a new generation, telling young people in the audience that their main responsibility is to create a "peaceful world, a compassionate world and a happy world." "Therefore, the meaning of human approach is more compassion, and genuinely consider others as brother and sister," the14th Dalai Lama said.
Here of some photos of my Tibetan friends wearing their finest clothes. They are all in Tibetan Amdo chubas looking very smart. I wasn't allowed in the photo as I dared to wear a Lhasa chuba that day! (just kidding...)
This is my first time seeing the Dalai Lama in Toronto so husband and I were pretty excited as was everyone else. Tibetans enjoy taking lots of photos of each other especially when they are all looking so gorgeous.
This is the fifth time that His Holiness has visited and we hope and pray that he will return very soon.
