Tibetan Tattoos - Lotus Tattoo

I have an Tibetan Tattoo - Om Mani Padme Hum mantra already tattooed on my wrist and I love it. It reminds me everyday of my goal of peace, love and compassion.

I am looking to get a lotus flower as my next one. I read about the meaning of the colours and if it is open or closed. I'm looking to have an open, red lotus. Does a lotus have to be placed above the waist as well? I was thinking around my leg...I'm a Pisces and we are the rulers of the feet. Can you tell me if this would be disrespectful?
