HH The Dalai Lama descended from the sky

When I was a child in a communist country (Hungary)I saw many news on the young Dalai Lama in politics with the Chinese. Hungarian people and in spite of communism even the official news readers respected him. I do not recall any occasion when he would have been ridiculed or downplayed in any news. I had an unforgettable stirring in me whenever I saw him or even when I just heard his name even though I did not know anything more than he was a religious leader of the Tibetan Buddhist Tradition.

In 2007 I had the great fortune to meet HHDL first in my life in Bendigo Australia at the ceremony of his blessing of the Great Stupa of Universal Compassion.

He arrived on a helicopter and walked with his entourage from the landing spot to the stupa. Have you ever seen him walking? It is an unmistakable sight. Even if you did not see colour but merely black shadowy outlines, you would know it is him. He puts his attention fully to each and every person he blesses on the way. He walks with a slight bend always respecting and loving every being that crosses his path. Hundreds of people were watching with awe and I cannot tell you the feeling that fills your heart, your soul (and your eyes with tear) when you have the incredible fortune to be in his presence.

May all beings who read about him, hear about him, see him or meet him be blessed to be able follow a meaningful life.
